Afternoon Tea in Boston: Back Bay to Newport
Tea in a Copley Square library, a Public Garden hotel, Salem's Parisian salon — and the Gilded Age mansion teas of Newport.
Tea Rooms.org Editors · September 1, 2026
Boston's afternoon tea scene is small and unusually good. The city itself has two rooms that matter — one inside a landmark library, one inside a landmark hotel — and then the map opens outward: a tea house in Cambridge, a Parisian-style salon on Salem's Derby Street, a 1916 tea house in Wenham, and, south in Rhode Island, the Newport mansions, where tea is served on the grounds of Marble House above the Cliff Walk.
All listings are verified against each venue's own published information. Most of these rooms serve tea on limited days — check the schedule before you go.
