Mei Leaf, established in London in 2006 (formerly chinalife), runs a teahouse on Camden High Street dedicated to what it calls 'true tea': a tea shop and tea bar where every pure tea in its range can be tasted gong fu style, alongside house tea concoctions mixed at the bar, with a seated area and take-away. The range covers white, green, matcha, yellow, oolong, black, raw and ripened puerh and tisanes sourced from small producers in the East, plus gaiwans, teapots and other teaware. The teahouse shares its space with a Chinese medicine clinic and herbal skincare shop, runs events and workshops, and is closed on bank holidays; reservations are taken for parties of six or more.
