Ashford Castle has served afternoon tea since 1868, and the original silver tea set presented to Lord and Lady Ardilaun in 1896 is displayed in The Connaught Room where it is taken today. Sittings run daily at 1:30pm, 2:00pm, 3:30pm and 4:00pm with speciality teas, finger sandwiches, freshly baked fruit scones with jam and cream, and homemade pastries. Gluten-free, nut-free, vegetarian, vegan and children's menus are available.
