Buckhead holds the two hotel services; Grant Park, the BeltLine, and Castleberry Hill hold the independent rooms; the Upper Westside holds the city's one gong fu house; and the best tea retail in the metro is out in Chamblee.

The 90-minute experience pairs loose-leaf teas with petite sandwiches, freshly baked scones, and pastries, with live entertainment, at $85 per adult and $70 per child (ages 3 to 10) plus tax; reservations run through Tock. Down the road, The Whitley's Tipsy Tea is the spirited alternative: every first Sunday from 3 to 5 PM, $85 all-inclusive, with finger sandwiches, desserts, and teapots filled with creatively spiked concoctions. Reservations are required and seatings are limited to the one date a month.

Just Add Honey sits on the BeltLine between Old Fourth Ward and Inman Park, a cozy café and retail shop with a loose-leaf wall, locally roasted coffee, tea tastings, and afternoon tea experiences. Brooklyn Tea, the Atlanta room of the Brooklyn-born company, holds down Castleberry Hill with masala chai lattes, pots for sipping in, and afternoon and high tea experiences for groups from two to twenty.

The hour-long Gong Fu Tea Experience, $25 to $50, walks guests through multiple infusions of three teas of their choosing; the room adjoins the affiliated Wai's Kung Fu school. In Chamblee, ZenTea is the metro's longtime tea house and shop, with more than 150 full-leaf varieties and a zen garden patio. Tea is currently served to-go, but the published menu still runs from $6.50 pots to a $19 tea-and-cream for one — three scones and a 16-ounce pot — or $28 for two.
Wai's Gong Fu Tea House
