The King Edward Afternoon Tea (Omni King Edward Hotel)
$$$St. Lawrence · Toronto, Ontario
Afternoon tea has been a tradition at the King Edward Hotel since the turn of the 20th century, served in the hotel's iconic lobby or in Victoria's restaurant. The published menu opens with an amuse-bouche, then a savoury course, a pastry course and classic cream and buttermilk-granola scones with clotted cream, strawberry preserves and lemon curd. Teas come from two Canadian companies, Toronto's Sloane Tea and Vancouver's Tealeaves, including a King Edward blend of jasmine, Ceylon and Yunnan finished with rose petals; a children's Jester's Tea is also offered.
